StubHub Center, Carson, California - The streak continues for bad judging in high profile fights. Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. (47-1-1, 32 KOs) stayed calm in the first round landing the more meaningful punches. Brian Vera (23-7, 14 KOs) came back in round two fighting behind his jab. Vera mixed it up in round three connecting with jabs, uppercuts and bodyshots. Chavez began to look weary in round four with his mouth opened and right eye started to swell up.
The Texas born Vera stayed more active coming forward in round five but Chavez had his best round in the sixth when he planted one shot bombs. After Vera winning most of round seven Chavez probably stole it at the end when he rocked Vera with right hand shots. The last three rounds were swept by Vera by staying active letting his hands go and catching Chavez on the way in. The disgrace judges’ scores were 96-94, 97-93 and 98-92 in another robbery victory for Chavez.
