Atlantic City, New Jersey - Darren Barker of Barnet London has been chasing for a piece of the middleweight championship the past few years and the quest continued Saturday night. At the Revel Casino Hotel on the boardwalk in Atlantic City the two year quest came to fruition when he scored a 12-round split decision in dethroning IBF champion Daniel Geale.
Judges scores at ringside: 114-113, 116-111, 114-113 and Barker throwing more punches 862-693.
Geale said about the loss, “I am very disappointed. I felt I won the fight. I was never hurt. I want a rematch.”
