Undefeated Jonathan “Bomba’ Gonzalez and also unbeaten Jose ‘Chelo’ González, McJoe Arroyo and McWilliams Arroyo should be fighting for a world title in their respective divisions in the first six months of 2013, announced Peter Rivera, vice of PR Best Boxing Promotions. Gonzalez (11-0, 10 KOs) is ranked 11 in the WBO at 112 pounds and is the interim Youth champion.
Lightweight Chelo Gonzalez (21-0, 16 KOs, the WBO Latino monarch, is the mandatory challenger at lightweight for reigning champion Ricky Burns. McJoe Arroyo (11-0, 6 KOs) is ranked WBO #12 in the 115 pound division while his brother McWilliams (13-1, 11 KOs) and Latino titleholder is is ranked #7 at 112 pounds.
“In the first half of 2013 they should be fighting for the world title,” said Rivera. “For Bomba and McWilliams, who are in the same weight division, we’ll look for an opportunity for one of them in another organization. Both are ranked in the WBO and must fight for the title before summer arrives.”
