Carlos ‘El Indio’ Quintana and (29-3, 23 KOs) and Keith Thurman (18-0, 17 KOs) will share the ring on November 24, at the Citizens Business Bank Arena in Ontario, California. The WBO/NABO junior middleweight belt won by Quintana when he stopped Deandre Latimore in six rounds this past May will be up for grabs. In his next fight Quintana hopes to fight for a world title.
“I don’t get a break. They want to kill me. I do not know much about Thurman but we are working hard to defeat him. I hope to get this guy out and fight for a world title or someone for a better pay. If not, I will withdraw. I will not fight anymore” stated Quintana.
Quintana is a fifteen year veteran who briefly held the WBO welterweight championship when he defeated Paul Williams by a 12 round unanimous decision in an upset. Four months later, Williams would win his title back by a first round technical knockout. The Puerto Rican fighter also fought Miguel Cotto and Andre Berto in world title fights but was stopped on both occasions.
